Welcome to my homepage!
I was born in Vigo in 1976. I got a degree in Mathematics from Universidade de Santiago de Compostela in 2000 and a European Ph.D. degree in Statistics from Universidade da Coruña in 2007. During four years of being a research grant-holder at Universidade da Coruña, I collaborated with Ricardo Cao on teaching Queuing Theory and Statistical Simulation and I had the opportunity to make several research visits at Universiteit Hasselt (Belgium), Université Catholique de Louvain (Belgium) and The University of Texas (USA). From October 2007 to August 2015, I was a visiting assistant professor at the Statistics Department of University Carlos III de Madrid. Nowadays, I am an assistant professor at the Department of Statistics and Operations Research of University Complutense de Madrid. I joined the Biostatistics Unit of this department in October 2015.
My research interests are:
-
Nonparametric Statistics (kernel estimators, bandwidth selectors, empirical likelihood)
-
Survival Analysis (left truncated and right censored data, gap times)
-
Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curve (Youden index, Symmetry point, composite biomarker)
-
Relative curves (relative density, relative distribution)
-
Copula functions
